Don’t do it all good, Do one thing great

When I speak to music producers and beat makers about what type of tracks they produce I always hear a response like this “I make everything East Coast, West Coast, Dirty South. I can do it all.” All this tells me is that you are not great at anything maybe good at best.

No one wants to hear that you do it all. The reason why is because most artist don’t do it all. They have one style of music that they stick to and they want to work with music producers that do the same.  It’s fine to be versatile, but as a producer it will not pay to be a jack of all trades. How many great music producers are famous for making all types of beats. Find your style and be the best at it and artist will come knocking on your door.
